About Sabon Holdings

Sabon was founded in 1997 in Tel Aviv as a small shop selling soaps inspired by a 70-year-old Australian recipe. Today the brand's portfolio includes bath and body care products and home fragrances made from natural, 100% vegan ingredients.

As the business grew, Sabon became a global brand with a network of more than 180 locations worldwide. In 2020, Sabon Romania was acquired by Yves Rocher France. In Romania, the company has 20 stores in the largest cities, nine of them in Bucharest.

About Sabon Holdings
Business requirements

Business requirements

The first requirement came from the stores and was very concrete: fiscal receipts had to be issued quickly, even without an Internet connection. Connectivity was a problem both in the stores and at head office, where the server was located.

On top of that came centralizing all sales data for accurate management reports, tracking discounts for loyalty card holders, integrating with the website and supporting extended hours: until 10 p.m., weekends included.

  • Uninterrupted sellingThe cash register must not stop when the link to head office goes down.
  • Sales from every store, in one placeManagement reports need every receipt, not just some of them.
  • Loyalty without manual workDiscounts and gifts for card holders have to be applied automatically.
  • Support during store hoursA store open until 10 p.m. can't wait until the next morning.

Solutions implemented

WinMENTOR ENTERPRISE

The core system: inventory management, automatic discounts, integration with the website and with the group's system.

WinMENTOR Retail

The in-store module: it runs on a local database and keeps selling without a permanent connection.

Power BI

A predefined dashboard for the general manager and department managers.

The digitalization journey, step by step

Each step solved a problem the stores faced every day.

  1. The database moves into the store

Sabon adopted the ERP system along with the dedicated retail module, which keeps a local database. Sales are made at the cash register without a permanent connection to head office, and the data syncs afterwards.

  2. Promotions managed from one place

Discounts and promotions are defined centrally and picked up automatically by the in-store application, without each team entering them separately.

  3. The server moves to a data center

For better connectivity and operational stability, the company's server was moved from the office to a data center.

  4. Support until 11 p.m.

To cover the stores' extended hours, NEXT assigned additional resources to support services, weekends included.

  5. Sales, centralized at head office

The system was customized so that all store sales are centralized in the head office database. The website integration was improved at the same time.

  6. Website orders flow in automatically

The website was connected to the inventory management system, so online orders are picked up directly, with no manual entry.

  7. Royal Passport, with no staff involvement

Predefined discounts for loyalty card holders apply automatically. Customers' birthdays are tracked, and gifts are given without anyone having to remember.

  8. Consistent reports for management

Power BI gives the general manager and department managers a consistent set of charts, easy to explore through a predefined dashboard.

  9. Integration with the group

After Yves Rocher acquired the company, the ERP system was integrated with SAP to manage sales and logistics operations and to simplify group-level reporting.

Results achieved

Uninterrupted selling in stores

Sales continue offline, and when the connection is restored, the database automatically centralizes transactions from every store.

Optimized processes and time saved

Automation reduced manual work and improved data management, with a faster flow of information.

Customer loyalty

Loyalty card holders automatically receive discounts and gifts based on criteria set in advance.

Better management reporting

Power BI makes data and analysis easier to access for department managers.

Fewer support requests

With the same team and the same hours, support requests, especially late-evening ones, dropped considerably.
